What’s new with Altium Designer?

The summer 09 release of Altium Designer is now available and introduces new design technologies and concepts to help electronics designers innovate, exploit advances in technology, and make the task of designing a product and getting it to market faster and easier.

Leading the latest new features are web-based software license management and access options, to make it easier for electronics designers to manage design teams, workloads and projects.

Other new features in Altium Designer include custom FPGA logic development for board-level designers, with no HDL skills required; a doubling of mechanical layers; high-level software development using C++; and USB device support.

Altium has also extended live links within Altium Designer to component supplier databases, adding Premier Farnell as one of its suppliers, alongside DigiKey (announced, December 2008).

The summer 09 release of Altium Designer demonstrates Altium's commitment to equipping all engineers with the capabilities they need to deliver next generation electronics designs.
